
The upcoming Tokyo Olympics is in the headlines of late, while it is the biggest sporting event India is looking forward to, overshadowing its cricketing dominance for now. Meanwhile, it seems like the Indian cricketers, too, are looking forward to it, as they look to cheer and support the Indian athletes during the global divertissement.
Recently, in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, India's men and women cricketers were seen urging the Indian citizens to cheer for their athletes during the Tokyo Olympics. The video included top cricketing stars like Mithali Raj, Rohit Sharma, Harleen Deol, Ajinkya Rahane, Harmanpreet Kaur and Virat Kohli.

"The BCCI proudly joins the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in extending our wholehearted support to the Team India Athletes at @Tokyo2020. 👏👏 They have trained hard and are raring to go. 💪 Let us get together and #Cheer4India," the caption of the video read.
The Indian contingent would be taking part in 18 sports, while athletics and shooting have strong chances of bagging medals. Meanwhile, legendary female boxer MC Mary Kom and Indian hockey captain Manpreet Singh would be the flag bearers during the opening ceremony on July 23, while wrestler Bajrang Puni would do the same during the closing on August 8.
