Tokyo Olympics: Here's how Virat Kohli, Ravinchandran Ashwin reacted to India's performance at the Games

Synopsis

India is done and dusted with its Tokyo Olympics campaign, wrapping it up with seven medals. Meanwhile, Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin praised their hearts out to the entire contingent.

It was India’s best-ever performance at the just-concluded Tokyo Olympics, as it scripted seven medals. Also, with a gold medal, things became even sweeter for the entire contingent.

Consequently, the entire delegation was applauded by the nation for its effort at the Games. Also, Indian cricketers took their turn to shower praise on all the athletes who made Indians proud.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who has always been vocal about the Indian athletes in the Olympics, said on social media, “Congratulations to all our winners and participants at the Olympics. Winning and losing is a part of sport, but what matters is you gave your best for the nation. We are so proud of you, and I wish you all the very best going forward. Jai Hind.”

Meanwhile, veteran Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin too played his part by tweeting, “A tribute to all the athletes who won medals and brought laurels to our country and most importantly to the entire contingent of superstars who tried valiantly. We are proud of you.”

Both Kohli and Ashwin are currently in England, taking part in the five-Test series for the Pataudi Trophy. The opening Test ended in a frustrating draw due to persistent rain, while Ashwin did not feature in the Test.
