Synopsis

India and England are fighting for supremacy in the opening Test of the Pataudi Trophy at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Day 5 is yet to officially kick off due to persistent rain.

The play did not begin on Day 5 of the opening Test of the 2021 Pataudi Trophy at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Sunday due to persistent rains. India needed 157 runs on the final day, while England needed nine wickets, as the rain gods decided to have the last laugh.

Earlier, England had batted first and was bundled out for 185, while India managed 278. England was shot out for 303 by Day 4 on Saturday, handing India a target of 209 runs.
Brief scores: England 183 & 303 (Root- 109*; Bumrah- 5/64) drew India 278 & 52/1 (Rahul- 26; Broad- 1/18).
