Surat: Karnataka paceman Abhimanyu Mithun achieved a rare feat as he claimed five wickets in an over including four in four deliveries in the semi-final against Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Twenty20 tournament.

On Friday (November 29), Mithun sent back five batsmen in the 20th the final over the innings. Haryana ended with 194/8 in 20 overs.

The 30-year-old had recently claimed a hat-trick in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day tournament against Tamil Nadu in Bengaluru.

Against Haryana, Mithun first dismissed Himanshu Rana off the first ball of the 20th over. Next he got the wicket of Rahul Tewatia and then completed a hat-trick by sending back Sumit Chand Kumar. On the fourth ball, he got the wicket of Amit Mishra.

On the final ball of the innings, Mithun dismissed Jayant Yadav to cap off a memorable over.

In international cricket, Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga had taken four wickets in four balls against South Africa during the 2007 ICC World Cup. Mithun had figures of 5/39 in four overs.
