Synopsis

In what might come as exciting news for Team India and its fans, veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has seemingly warmed up perfectly for the upcoming five-Test series against England for the Pataudi Trophy, starting August 4. He is taking part in the ongoing County Championship, as he played a game for Surrey against Somerset at The Oval in London.

Ashwin managed to claim a total of seven wickets in both innings. In the second innings, he made a deadly impact, claiming six for 27, as Somerset was shot out for 69. Although the match ended in a draw, it became the perfect warm-up for Ashwin, who was not effective in the ICC World Test Championship final last month.
