IPL 2020: Watch Shikhar Dhawan brutalising Ravichandran Ashwin with a sublime six

Synopsis

Ravichandran Ashwin was traded to Delhi Capitals from Kings XI Punjab, having led the latter last season. Shikhar Dhawan finished as DC's highest run-scorer in 2020.

The teams are engaging themselves in intensive training as they look to get themselves in the groove ahead of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), starting Saturday. With the tournament being held in UAE, it would be challenging as the conditions would not be as easy as in India.

On the same note, Delhi Capitals (DC), too, have been engaging themselves in extraordinary training sessions. Having finished in the fourth spot last season, they would be looking to better it this term. And, what better way it could be other than the batsmen going slam-bang and scoring run freely.

In their latest training session, opener Shikhar Dhawan was up against their latest recruit, as veteran off-spinner looked to test Dhawan's batting in the UAE. To everyone's surprise, Dhawan was in a sublime form, as he also hit Ashwin for a fine six over mid-on. Since it was a practice session, there was barely any expression from any of the team members.

Dhawan had a fine season last year, having finished as the highest run-scorer for the side, as he would look to make things count this year and lead the side to their maiden IPL title this edition. With a heavily balanced and star-studded side, they are also being considered the dark horse this term.

Here are some stills from their latest practice session:
