Covid-19 seems to have caught up with the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.
After a couple of players from Kolkata Knight Riders tested positive, reports are now coming in of three Chennai Super Kings members testing positive.
According to reports, Chennai Super Kings contingent's chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, bowling coach L Balaji and a bus cleaner have tested positive for Covid-19. The rest of the squad has tested negative.
It is understood that the trio would undergo another round of test, following which if it returns positive, the trio would be placed in an isolation centre, away from the team bubble, for ten days and would only be allowed after the return with a negative test.

CSK last played defending champion Mumbai Indians on Saturday in Delhi, losing the clash by four wickets. It takes on Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday at the same venue.
It is the second time the CSK camp has witnessed a COVID outbreak. In IPL 2020, Viswanathan's wife had tested positive, along with Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, in Dubai.
Meanwhile, according to InsideSport, five ground staff members of the Delhi & District Cricket Association, who are on IPL duty at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, have tested positive as well. “It’s confirmed that five DDCA ground staff tested Covid positive. They were on duty on the ground on the last IPL Match at Kotla. Since they were on ground duty, there are chances that they must have come in contact with players and team staff,” a DDCA official confirmed.
Earlier, a couple of players from Kolkata Knight Riders (Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier) had tested positive for the same. As a result, KKR's Tuesday's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Ahmedabad was rescheduled.
