Mumbai: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing to the nation to observe “Janta Curfew” tomorrow (March 22), batting legend and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar has called it “the right step” to fight against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In his address to the nation on Thursday night (March 19), PM Modi has asked all citizens to not come out of their houses on Sunday (March 22) from  7 am to 9 pm and observe “Janta Curfew”.

This appeal has been supported by all including cricketers. Indian team captain Virat Kohli had also tweeted about the same. Now, Tendulkar has posted a message on his Twitter page.

“#JantaCurfew is the right step in keeping ourselves prepared for any eventuality. Hon’ble PM @narendramodi  ji has rightly said that all of us should take the fight against COVID-19 very seriously. Let’s do our bit and stay at home to protect ourselves and others (sic),” Tendulkar tweeted to his 31 million-plus followers on Friday night (March 20).

Earlier, Tendulkar had tweeted how coronavirus can be kept at bay. He wrote, “As citizens, we have to act responsibly. We could follow simple steps to keep the Corona Virus at bay. It is my request to everyone to follow basic guidelines to try our best to ensure we all stay safe. #IndiaFightsCorona @MoHFW_INDIA (sic).”
