India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has posted a short video to hail the 'real heoroes' of the country in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

Mumbai: India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has heaped praise on all the medical personnel who are working “selflessly” to fight the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

On Sunday (March 22), the entire country supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Janta Curfew”. At 5 pm, everybody appeared on their balconies, in front of their houses, to applaud all those who are leading the fight against the virus.

Pandya too joined in to salute “all the medical staff” and “other emergency personnel”. He hailed them as “real Heroes”.

“Salute to all the medical staff and other emergency personnel who are fighting the virus selflessly. We are forever indebted to you. You are the real Heroes,” Pandya tweeted with a short video on Sunday night (March 22).

Earlier, on March 20, he had written that all Indians should stay indoors in order to fight against coronavirus.

“Safety first everyone! Let's take all the precautions necessary to fight #CoronaVirus. Stay indoors, wash your hands, be proactive and remain calm. Also, respect to all the professionals out there who are doing the best they can to protect us (sic),” he had written.

Due to coronavirus pandemic, all cricket matches have been suspended. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has deferred the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) till April 15.
