Bengaluru: India cricket team captain Virat Kohli has praised the police personnel across the country for helping people during the 21-day lockdown due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
On its official Twitter handle, Delhi Police shared a video clip of Kohli talking about the police forces. In the video Kohli lauds Delhi Police for performing their duties and also providing food to poor people.
Kohli said, “It is heartening for me to know that the police service across the nation is helping so many people in these difficult times. I want to acknowledge the efforts of Delhi police who have not only performed their duties with absolute honesty but also taken food to the poor people on a daily basis, which is their utmost requirement. So, well done and keep putting in the same effort.”
Delhi Police said, “Thanking you @imVkohli for your kind words of encouragement and support. In this fight against #COVID19 we are leaving no stone unturned to protect our fellow citizens.#DelhiPoliceFightsCOVID @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @LtGovDelhi @CPDelhi (sic).”
