Bengaluru: With no cricket matches due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Indian cricketers have been staying at home and urging everyone to do the same. Test off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin taken to “online coaching” of fielding drills with a video of South superstar Rajinikanth.

India is currently under a 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of the virus. During these difficult times, Ashwin has entertained cricket fans by showing how they can learn fielding by watching a clip from Rajinikanth’s movie.

The video of Rajinikanth was shared by a Twitter user and Ashwin replied to it, advising fans to try at home but “not with explosives, strictly with soft ball”.

“Online coaching alert: some fielding drills. Please try it at home but not with explosives, strictly soft balls. by our Thalaivar #lockdownlessons lmao (sic),” Ashwin wrote on his Twitter page.
  Ashwin, who is not part of India’s limited-overs squads, will next be seen in action when the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) gets under way. It is still not clear when the 13th edition of the IPL will start. It has been deferred till April 15. It was to start on March 29. For this season, Ashwin has moved from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to Delhi Capitals (DC).
