Around 95 per cent of Mumbai's local trains will start operating from January 29.

He, however, urged passengers to refrain from rushing to the stations. That's because only emergency staff who had been allowed earlier can board the commuter trains.
It will take some more days before the local trains would be made accessible for all passengers.
From Friday, Central Railway will increase the suburban services from the existing 1,580 to 1,685 services and Western Railway will increase the existing 1,201 suburban services to 1,300 services.
For now, only women and lawyers are permitted to travel in local trains except during morning peak hours between 8 am and 11 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm in the evening when the essential staff takes the trains.
