India records 39,361 new COVID-19 cases, 416 deaths in 24 hours

India on Monday reported 39,361 fresh coronavirus cases, which is marginally lower than the previous count. According to the latest health ministry data, another 416 people lost their lives to Covid-19 taking the death toll to 4,20,967. On Sunday, 535 fatalities were recorded. The positivity rate stands at 3.41  per cent, above 3 per cent after 34 days.

The Union Health Ministry stated the Centre has provided more than 45.37 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses to states and union territories so far. 
Speaking about recoveries, as many as 35,968 patients recovered from the disease during the same period which took the cumulative count of recoveries to 3,05,79,106 at a rate of 97.35 per cent.

Kerala with 17,466 cases in a day leads the state in the most number of infections in a day. It also reported 66 deaths. Maharashtra still remains the worst-hit state with maximum overall cases. It added 6,843 cases and 123 deaths over the past 24 hours.
