Mumbai drugs case: NCB arrests 1 more drug peddler; Aryan Khan asked for science books while in custody

So far, with today’s arrest the anti-drugs agency has arrested 17 people in the case, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, and some "high-profile organisers" belonging to a Delhi-based event management company.
 


The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday arrested one more drug peddler in connection with the seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

An NCB official said NCB's Mumbai zonal unit apprehended the drug peddler from suburban Powai late Tuesday night after his name cropped up during questioning of those arrested earlier in the cruise drug party case.

So far, with today’s arrest the anti-drugs agency has arrested 17 people in the case, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, and some "high-profile organisers" belonging to a Delhi-based event management company.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), probing the seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast, on Tuesday told a court in Mumbai that the matter has become like the novels of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes with "new twists and turns every moment".

A day after a Mumbai court extended Aryan Khan's custody, the NCB provided an update on the case. NCB's zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who was also a part of the Rhea Chakraborty drugs probe, said that more suspects are under the lens of the agency, and they will be investigated next.

Aryan Khan and others in NCB custody were taken for a medical check up on Wednesday.  

Besides Aryan Khan, those arrested by the NCB include Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra, Vikrant Chhokar and a drug supplier from suburban Juhu.

The crackdown against drug peddlers and those related to the cruise drug party case is on at various locations in Mumbai and other places.

Meanwhile, according to a report on Times of India, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who continues to extend his full cooperation to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has been reportedly provided with science books during his custody till Thursday.

According to a report of India Today, the star kid had previously asked for the books which were later provided by the officials. This comes after reports started doing the rounds that Aryan hasn't been getting any privileges in custody including his food choice. Reportedly, he along with other accused in the drug case, are being given food daily from the NCB mess. Currently, home-cooked food is not permitted inside the venue.  

The NCB on Sunday said they had seized 13 grams of cocaine, five grams of MD, 21 grams of charas and 22 pills of Ecstasy and Rs 1.33 lakh following its raid on the Goa-bound ship.
