Bengaluru International Airport has won awards in two categories initiated by the Airports Council International. The Airport won the ACI’s Airport Service Quality Awards for arrivals and departures
Bengaluru: Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) was awarded the Airport Service Quality Awards for both arrivals and departures. The airport has also been adjudged best airport by size/region in the 25-40 MPPA category in the Asia-Pacific zone.
The awards were bestowed by the Airports Council International (ACI) and this year the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) also known as Bengaluru international Airport Limited (BIAL) has won awards in two categories.
The awards were given based on the survey of passenger satisfaction. The airports that have followed the sampling methodology of the ACI are considered for the award.
Along with the World Airport Awards by Skytrax, the honour given by ACI is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the aviation industry.
In a bid to improve customer satisfaction, the KIA has introduced new services to passengers, including women-only taxi services; taxis driven by women for women passengers, at the airport. It also initiated quick luggage check-ins by installing 16 fully automated self-service bag drop machines that checks-in luggage in 45 minutes.
