Synopsis

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire continues to dominate the Indian sedan market, outselling popular SUVs in April 2025. Its affordability, fuel efficiency, and updated features contribute to its success, making it a popular choice among consumers.

As the sole sedan among India's top 10 best-selling vehicles for April 2025, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has shown to be a strong competitor in a market that is becoming more and more dominated by SUVs.

The Dzire surpassed well-known SUV models like the Maruti Suzui Brezza (16,971 units) and Tata Nexon (15,457 units) in April, selling 16,996 units, only behind the Hyundai Creta (17,016 units). This outstanding success demonstrates the Dzire's continuing popularity in a market that is declining both in India and internationally.

Price and mileage

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire succeeds in India's price-conscious market by providing a strong combination of dependability, affordability, and fuel efficiency. The Dzire is still affordable for a variety of consumers because to its cheap pricing, which includes a recent price increase that made the base model start at Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom). It is an affordable option for everyday commuters and families on a tight budget thanks to its stated mileage of 24.79 km/l for petrol manual, 25.71 km/l for petrol AMT, and an amazing 33.73 km/kg for CNG.

The VXi and ZXi models with CNG options are priced at Rs 8.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The Dzire's affordability is further increased by its small size (3,995mm length), which complies with India's sub-4m tax incentives. The Dzire's capacity to provide useful value has kept it relevant despite the worldwide move toward SUVs, as seen by its sales surge from 15,460 units in March 2025 to 16,996 units in April.

Comes with amazing features

The Dzire's attraction is increased by its new amenities and updated look. It has a modern appearance thanks to its redesigned grille, sharp LED headlights, and front fascia. The inside of the cabin has a sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Z-Series 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine, which produces 82 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque, powers the Dzire. It is connected to a 5-speed manual or automatic manual transmission (AMT) gearbox. With a 5-star Global NCAP rating, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control included on all models, safety is exceptional.

Dominance over competition

Due to a combination of its well-known name, extensive availability, and customized features, the Dzire dominates rivals such as the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. Compared to Honda, which offers the Amaze, Maruti Suzuki guarantees better accessibility and reduced maintenance costs because to its unrivaled service network. The Dzire's factory-fitted CNG, which the Amaze lacks, appeals to budget-conscious business and individual buyers, and its 5-star safety rating surpasses that of the Aura's safety package.

Resale value in the market

One of the main reasons for the Dzire's ongoing appeal is its high resale value. The Dzire's cheap maintenance costs and extensive service network, along with Maruti Suzuki's reputation for dependability, guarantee its demand in the used vehicle market. The sedan is a popular option for used car purchasers due to its longevity and fuel economy. Over 27 lakh Dzires have been driven on Indian roads since its launch in 2008, and as of November 2024, a strong spare parts ecosystem has been established, increasing the vehicle's resale value.
