Supreme Court shocks AP government over Sadavarti Satram lands

The Supreme Court has turned down the petition of the AP government to stop the auction of Sadavarti Satram lands The court directed the AP government to conduct the auction of the lands on September 14th It also directed the respondent Alla Ramakrishna Reddy to take part in the auction
The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court and directed the Andhra Pradesh government to conduct the auction of the sale of Sadavarti Satram lands once again on September 14th.
TDP (Telugu Desam Party) activist Mandala Sanjeeva Reddy filed a plea in the Supreme Court to stop the fresh auction of Sadavarti lands. But the Bench led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra upheld the decision of the Hyderabad court to hold fresh auction with Rs 27.44 crore as the minimum price.
The 83 acres Sadavarti lands in Tamil Nadu was sold to TDP supporter for Rs 22.44 crore. YCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy brought the issue to court and the court favoured Alla and said he could buy the lands paying Rs 5 crore extra.
The case was again petitioned by TDP and the High Court ordered for a fresh National auction within six weeks with Rs. 27.44 as the minimum price. Now the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s decision.
The Supreme Court also directed Alla to take part in the auction. He has deposited Rs 27.44 crore with the endowments commissioner of AP towards the offer made in the court regarding purchase of Sadavarti lands.
The Bench posted the matter for further hearing on September 18th.
