Andhra farmer performs traditional funeral rites for pet dog

Synopsis

A farmer in Ampapuram Village of Bapulapadu Mandal in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh lost his pet dog a few days back. The dog and his master have been together for the last nine years. The farmer was gifted the dog nine years back. He treated the dog as a son and when he died, the farmer ensured that he was given a fitting send-off.

In a world where human relations are declining, the bond between this Andhra farmer and his dog is a lesson on closeness that we should all learn from.

The Andhra farmer gave his dead dog a human burial. A farmer in Ampapuram Village of Bapulapadu Mandal in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh lost his pet dog a few days back.

The dog and his master have been together for the last nine years. Gnana Prakash Rao has two daughters and after their marriage, a close friend gifted him the dog, nine years back.

 The dog who he named Anji was like a son to Prakash Rao and accompanied him everywhere.

Anji died on July 22 due to heart attack. Prakash Rao was shattered and heartbroken. But he wanted to send give the dog a fitting send-off. Hence he performed all the funeral rites in a manner as he would do to a son. After nine days of his death, July 30, he invited 150 villagers for a feast in remembrance of his pet.
