
China: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin were seen travelling in the same car to the venue of their bilateral meeting in Tianjin, China. The bilateral meeting between PM Modi and President Putin is expected to focus on strengthening India-Russia relations, regional cooperation, and discussing key global issues.
The joint travel of the two leaders highlights the importance of their bilateral engagement and underscores the ongoing diplomatic coordination between India and Russia within multilateral platforms like the SCO.
"After the proceedings at the SCO Summit venue, President Putin and I travelled together to the venue of our bilateral meeting. Conversations with him are always insightful," tweets Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the two leaders travel in the same car to the destination of their bilateral meeting in Tianjin, China.
Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that following the SCO plenary session, PM Modi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the meeting, the Prime Minister will return to India.
The meeting comes on the sidelines of the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of State Council Summit, held from August 31 to September 1 in Tianjin. Leaders from SCO member countries, including China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and others, are participating in discussions on regional stability and cooperation.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Tianjin on Saturday for a two-day official visit. During his stay, he will actively participate in the 25th SCO Heads of State Council Summit, which is scheduled from August 31 to September 1.
