What is common between Indian buses and Pakistani Airlines?

Pakistan airlines made passengers stand for a three-hour flight. Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-743 to Saudi Arabia carried seven extra passengers on January 20. PIA broke all air safety regulations in doing so.  

Jam-packed buses with passengers standing for hours together is a common sight in India. Recently, Pakistan International Airlines commonly known as PIA, which is the national flag carrier of Pakistan, pulled records of sorts after it made as many as seven passengers stand throughout a three-hour international flight.

According to an investigation by DAWN, the Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-743 to Saudi Arabia carried seven extra passengers on January 20.

The report found that PIA broke all air safety regulations when seven passengers from Karachi to Madina were made to stand in the Boeing 777 aircraft.

Sources told the Pakistani daily that the senior air hostess of PIA Hina Turab had informed the captain that "there was chaos in the cabin because the passengers were over and above the configuration, but the captain told her to adjust those passengers as the aircraft was on the taxi way." 

The investigative report found that PIA took the entire incident lightly and has been trying to ignore the implications.

The PIA aircraft - a Boeing 777 has a seating capacity of 409, including jump seats, while the Karachi to Madina flight carried 416 passengers.
