Thailand is a super popular holiday spot for Indians, one of the top destinations in Asia. Thousands of us visit every year. But lately, there have been some reports of Indian tourists getting into trouble there. This latest incident adds to those concerns.
A shocking video from a restaurant in Phuket has kicked up a storm online. It shows an Indian tourist being brutally thrashed by the staff—both men and women.
The video starts with a group—a woman and two men—pinning the tourist against a wall and hitting him repeatedly. You can hear him screaming in pain. The chaos continues for quite some time.
After a while, the police arrive and start talking to the restaurant owner. At this point, the Indian man, with his hands folded, is heard pleading, "They beat me, I want to go home." But just moments later, the cops handcuff him and lead him away. The video, which is about 4.25 minutes long, was apparently filmed by other customers in the restaurant.
According to information shared on social media, the tourist arrested by the police is a man named Jitesh. The posts claim the whole fight broke out because he allegedly tried to harass a female staff member at the restaurant. However, reports say that the Thai police have not released any official statement on the matter yet.
