From $100 to complimentary dessert: Here's how countries are giving incentives to speed up vaccination drive

Synopsis

Let's take a look at what uniques ways the countries have adopted to speed up the vaccine process.

As the new variant of the coronavirus is grappling the world and fuelling infections, several countries are speeding up their vaccination drive and offering them various incentives to get the jab.  According to the latest data, more than 197.3 million people have been reported to have contracted the virus globally.

Let's take a look at what uniques ways the countries have adopted to speed up the vaccine process:
United States: California is giving out 2 million $50 gift cards to encourage people to get their vaccine shots.  Recently, New York also announces that anyone who gets a shot at any city-run centre would be given $100. Of course, all the other states have their own incentives be it pasties, lotteries or anything else.

Russia: Though the scheme was valid till July 11, it was that anyone who gets the first of a two-dose vaccine could enter a draw with five cars worth 1 million roubles.

Philippines: A town in the country is planning a cow raffle as an incentive and another incentive would include a huge sack of rice.

Similarly to the Philippines, Thailand people stand a chance to win a cow if they register for the vaccine.  In China, people will be given free eggs, store coupons and discounts on ration items, while in Serbia, vaccinated people would receive $30 cash. In Hong Kong, a property developer raffled off a $1.4 million apartment for people who have been vaccinated, whereas, Israel is offering free beers and Mayalsia complimentary deserts.
