Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg joins COVID-19 fight, donates 720,000 face masks

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has now announced that Facebook Inc will give away 720,000 face masks amidst the spread of novel coronavirus 

After Bill Gates and Jack Ma, now Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced to donate a whopping 720,000 face masks amidst coronavirus spread. 

It is said that Zuckerberg had stocked up masks as part of wildfire precaution, and wanted to distribute the same to the fire force during emergency. 

In a Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg has said that the company will donate a lot more and is working on the modalities to source more for the purpose. 

Earlier, Bill Gates had announced $ 100 million through his Milends-Gates foundation to fight coronavirus and within a few days, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma had pledged over 2 million face masks to the US.

Nearly one billion people around the world were confined to their homes on Sunday, as the coronavirus death toll crossed 13,000 and factories were shut in worst-hit Italy after another single-day fatalities record.

The raging pandemic has forced lockdowns in 35 countries across the globe, disrupting lives, travel and businesses as governments scramble to shut borders and unleash hundreds of billions in emergency measures to avoid a widespread virus-fuelled economic meltdown.
