Kolkata: Skimming fraud at ATMs comes to fore as people lose thousands

A number of people from Jadavpur, Kolkata, have become victims of a purported skimming fraud. With no possession of ATM cards, fraudsters have made away with thousands of rupees.
Jadavpur: Many people living in Jadavpur area of Kolkata were in for a shock as they received messages, apprising them of withdrawal of money from their accounts. But why were they shocked? Well, that is because these people did not use their ATM cards to withdraw money. Yet they have lost their money.
Sources said that the money was withdrawn from other states using the concept of skimming.
In all, as many as 32 complaints were filed at the Jadavpur police station.
