Sundar, a 20-year-old elephant, was rescued from a temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra and has been housed in Bannerghatta Biological Park since 2014. Sundar has become the centre of attraction at Bannerghatta Biological Park after it was captured on video using twigs to scratch its body.
The mahouts who threw twigs and saw Sundar using the same to scratch its body also witnessed another elephant copying the same. The elephants used the twigs to scratch their ears, mouth, neck and belly area.
