Delhi violence: Head constable explains how he controlled ‘gun wielding Shahrukh’

Head constable Deepak Dahiya on Friday explained the scenario on how he controlled Shahrukh, the man who opened fire on February 24 during the violent clashes over Citizenship Amendment Act in North-East Delhi.
 

New Delhi: While speaking to ANI, head constable Deepak Dahiya on Friday expressed whole scenario on how he controlled Shahrukh, the man who opened fire on Feb 24 during the violent clashes over Citizenship Amendment Act in North-East Delhi.

He said, “Suddenly the mob turned violent. I tried to divert them using my lathi. I saw a man running towards me. I waved my lathi as he fired one shot towards my right and returned. By this time the public had retreated, and they were out of firing line (range).”

At least 42 people have died and around 200 people sustained serious injuries in the violence.
