With soaring temperature and water scarcity, birds in the city are falling from the sky as they are extremely dehydrated.
BBMP wildlife rescuers say, now due to lockdown, many rescuers are unable to travel to fulfil the practice of feeding them and keeping water bowls this summer, causing many creatures to go without water and food.
Recently, on Infantry Road, a mother eagle fell from its nest and died due to dehydration. Next day even her chicks fell. However, they survived. The chicks were moved to a rehabilitation centre and released later.
Rescuers appeal to public to keep a water bowl on their roof tops, with rice and ragi so that these birds are feed and do not get dehydrated.
They also stated that whenever one finds a bird grounded during summer, people must keep a water bowl near the bird and call the BBMP wildlife cell or authorised rescuers if they are not in Bengaluru.
