Neighbouring wards refuse to host Padarayanpura rioters for COVID-19 test

Fearing they might be infected, and after seeing their unruly behaviour in attacking those who came forward to help them, Rayapuram wards residents and corporator have refused host of Padarayanpura residents for COVID-19 tests. The corporator has raised the matter with the BBMP commissioner.

"We don't want Padarayanpura people here", the petrified residents of neighbouring Rayapuram ward pleaded before area corporator Shashikala Keshav.

Residents were told that people from Padarayanpura, rioters in particular will be screened and tested at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital at Rayapuram.

The fear of being infected and unruly behaviour of men and women of Padarayanpura has made Rayapuram residents approach the corporator who now have put the ball in BBMP commissioner's court asking them not to entertain COVID-19 suspects from Padarayanpura in their area as over 70 per cent pourakarmikas reside here and the infection may spread to the rest of Bengaluru.
