Earlier, former CM HD Kumaraswamy had raked up the issue of Padarayanpura rioters jailed in Ramanagara to attack the Karnataka government. He the said that the district was free from COVID-19 and attempts were made to spread the infection since the rioters in jail had tested positive.
Now, even as coronavirus cases surged past 80,000 mark in India, lockdown norms were thrown to wind in Karnataka, as people swarmed to temple festival violating norms and regulations.
No permission was sought to conduct the temple festival and hundreds of them gathered at Kolagindanahalli village of Ramanagara district in Karnataka.
This being an annual affair, the villagers performed rituals and prayed that the deadly virus doesn't spread. As hundreds gathered, all lockdown rules were flouted as none wore a mask nor maintained social distance.
