Bengaluru: Ganesha idols at home for this year will have to be less than two feet in height and will need to be immersed at home. For public display, only the BBMP joint commissioner and deputy commissioner of police can decide on where the one Ganesha allowed per ward for public darshan is placed.
Based on the application, the zonal in-charges will decide on permissions. As per BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, Ganesha idols at homes should not exceed two feet in height and the public should immerse the idol in their home. Only one Ganesha idol is allowed in each ward for public display for three days. Not more than 20 people are allowed to gather at a time.
