ASHA workers armed with lathis to implement lockdown

Recently, there have been cases of abuse and attacks on ASHA workers by public during the lockdown. In order to protect themselves and also instil fear among lockdown violators and public, ASHA workers have decided to wield lathis.

In Ron taluk of North Karnataka district Gadag, ASHA workers on the street stopped motorists and forced them to follow lockdown rules and wear face masks.

As many youths were roaming without masks, the workers forced them to use T-shirts to cover their face.
