Synopsis

Man commits suicide in depression. He was constantly suffering and was not taken care of by his son

A 45-year-old patient committed suicide by jumping off the roof of Gandhi Hospital of Hyderabad. The incident happened on Sunday and his co-patients who identified him said that he was very depressed for the past two months when he had got himself admitted at the hospital.

A native of Nizamabad, Giri was being treated for urinary tract problems since two years. Chilkalguda sub-inspector G. Bhasker Reddy said, "He was staying in the hospital premises for two months and used to eat the GHMC’s Rs 5 meals sold outside the hospital."

Giri was admitted to the hospital because of blockage in the bladder and urinary problems two months ago. The sub-inspector further added, "Giri was suffering from depression because he had no wife and his son refused to take care of him."
