  • WhatsApp's latest version may bring a colourful change.
  • The change would also mean it will go the Facebook way.
  • This is reportedly a server-side testing and the change may not come to all.

WhatsApp's latest version 2.17.291 may introduce similar colourful text statuses as seen on Facebook. Now, this is said to be a testing phase and may not come to all users who get this update, according to AndroidPolice.

So, what's new? WhatsApp may get a new floating pencil button that will be on the right lower corner, just above the camera icon. You will find new coloured text status and you can dabble with the font.

Those who do not wish to wait for the new update, can download the link from APK Mirror. However, we would recommend you wait for the official rollout.

Facebook is offering more than ten background colour options including white, yellow, yellow and orange, green and blue. It isn't clear what WhatsApp has in store for users.

Meanwhile, users are still awaiting the ability to recall or delete sent messages, which has been hitting headlines for a while now. It's for all those times when you have regretted sending a message and only wished if you could retract it. Reports have been hinting at a 5-minute window to retract messages, but nothing concrete is out yet.
