Amravati to Vijaywada in 5 minutes: Andhra pradesh may get superfast Hyperloop

Synopsis

Andhra Pradesh government could deploy Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) to develop a Hyperloop project that connects Amravati and Vijayawada. The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HTT.

While we have been reading about Mumbai to Pune in 25 minutes and Bengaluru to Chennai in 30 minutes, looks like it's Andhra Pradhesh that may bring the superfast transportation to India first.

If this report by News18 is to be believed then the Andhra Pradesh government could deploy Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) to develop a Hyperloop project that connects Amravati and Vijayawada in mere 5 minutes.

This news comes after the metro project to connect both cities faced several obstacles.

The report adds that the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HTT which proposes Hyperloop connectivity between the city centres of Vijaywada and Amravati. It will reportedly be a privately funded project and will use a Public Private Partnership model. It will begin with a six-month feasibility study.

Billionaire investor Elon Musk had proposed the Hyperloop concept, who has now made it open source. HTT has already inked a deal to build one between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
