TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar booked for molestation

Synopsis

Arunabh Kumar booked for sexual harassment. The FIR is lodged just a day after Mumbai police claimed they cannot do anything until a victim comes forward.

According to The Times of India, Andheri police has registered a case against Kumar under IPC sections 354 A (causing sexual harassment) and 509 (insult the modesty of a woman by indecent words, gesture or acts).

The FIR is lodged just a day after Mumbai police claimed they cannot do anything until a victim comes forward to lodge the complaint. In fact, a couple of days back, it was also said that the Mumbai Police may have to close the case if no victim comes forward. It also raised mixed feelings over why women don't come forward in such cases and how if not true it has simply defamed Kumar.

A Hindustan Times report said that the police team visited TVF office and are searching for Arunabh, but 'unable to find him'.

It all started when a blogpost written by Indian Fowler on Medium surfaced. The Viral Fever refuted it completely and instead threatened to take legal action against the person. However, soon many women came forward with their horrid experiences with Arunabh Kumar, CEO, TVF.

It should be noted that most of these women wrote from their official handles and the least TVF could do is set up an investigation to dig deeper into the matter. TVF put out another statement, but it was too late already.
