WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in India. While the company keeps adding new features, there are few features that have been surfacing online in the form of leaks and rumours, but haven't made it to users yet.
Recent reports hinted at WhatsApp to soon add the ability to view YouTube videos within chat (via Wabetainfo), and without the need to visit the YouTube app every time the link is clicked. This feature could first make to iOS and then come to Android, as per reports floating online. It will also support Picture in Picture (PiP), which means the video will be seen in a popup box.
Another highly awaited feature is the ability to recall or delete sent messages, which has been hitting headlines for a while now. It's for all those times when you have regretted sending a message and only wished if you could retract it. Reports have been hinting at a 5-minute window to retract messages, but nothing concrete is out yet.
We've also been hearing about the ability to edit messages, but nothing was known later. The revoke feature started surfacing again in the form of 'Unsend' with screenshots leaked for iOS devices.
WhatsApp is also said to be testing the number change feature, which will notify all your friends and family about your number change and you don't need to tell each one.
The features being tested in the beta mode are even scrapped, and only a few may see the day of light. Among the ones revealed in the report, we wonder how many would make it to your devices.
