  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launch is scheduled for September
  • Now there have been reports that the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been leaked
  • The dual rear camera would be the most distinguishing feature of the Note 8

Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy Note 8 is in the making. What we know already is that the phone would be made on the lines of the Galaxy S8, as far as its design and major features are concerned. And that it will be priced at around €999 (about Rs 73,500) with launch scheduled for September.

But a new leak confirms some design features precisely, like where the fingerprint sensor will be, or how much the dual cameras on the phone will be protruding out of the phone.

Computer designed renders leaked by show that both the camera and fingerprint sensor unit, along with the LED flash are crowded in the same little space at the top center of the rear of the phone. But lie flush against the phone surface, like on the S8.

There are two drawbacks to this design. Firstly, for a big phone like the Note 8, like it is with the 6.2 inch Galaxy S8+, the fingerprint is not reachable in the normal hold-to-use position of the phone. Secondly, in a bid to locate the sensor, you end up smudging the rear camera lens, which will help you take some hazy photos.

A different render revealed by suggests that Samsung could locate all these sensors and the flash on to a bump which will help find the fingerprint sensor easily. But to deliberately induce a camera bump is to solve that problem only to create a bigger Eisenhower.

There are several other usual thing confirmed by the leaks, like the presence of a 3.5mm jack, the position of the S-Pen, the placement of lock button and volume rocker (again, high up) and the Note 8 is said to come with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display and an Exynos 8895 chipset in most markets. It is to have 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage.

The dual rear camera would be the most distinguishing feature of the Note 8, now that the design is not looking any different from the S8. The dual camera setup consists of two 12MP sensors, probably similar to what the Galaxy S8 has right now. But one of the two might get a telephoto lens for the ‘Zoom-in’ function. Both cameras are said to feature optical image stabilisation.
