Moto Z2 Play launched in India: Specs, price, availability

The successor to the Z Play, the Z2 Play flaunts a metal unibody design and the rear panel features magnetic pins to attach Moto Mods that allow accessories like super-zoom camera, additional battery packs and so on, to be attached to the device. The company hasn't disclosed the exact availability of the mods. 

Those who pre-book the device by paying Rs 2000, will get the option of zero interest EMI, and a free bundle that includes an aluminum case, back shell, selfie-stick and a protective film. Dipped in grey and gold colour options, the Moto Z2 Play sports a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. It gets Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qulacomm Snapdragon 626 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The storage options include 32GB and 64GB options, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot. It packs in a 12MP dual pixel autofocus camera and 5MP selfie with dual LED flash. Finally, the Z2 comes fuelled by a 3000mAh battery that promises 30 hours of battery life on single charge. It also gets fingerprint scanner. 

GamePad Mod

 

Along with the device, the company has also launched Mods - a Moto Power pack offering 2000mAh battery and a 3490mAh Turbo Power Pack Moto Mod. But there is no word on their availability in the Indian market, yet. The company has also launched Wireless Charging Style Shell, an upgraded JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod and Moto GamePad mod. While the power mods add extra battery life, the Gamepad mod includes dual control sticks, a D-pad, and four buttons.
