Mobile application to prevent atrocities on elderly
Synopsis
The innovative App is said to have been devised to prevent atrocities on senior citizens and to help them in times of need.
SOS is already available on the Google Play store. With this app, helpline numbers of HelpAge India across the country can be accessed. HelpAge helpline would be open 24 hours a day.
Owing to some serious problem or crisis, if senior citizens contact the HelpAge helpline through the App, the HelpAge staff will coordinate with local police, hospital, old-age homes and referral centers in providing the needed assistance.
Rekha Murthy, Chief of Helpage India, Karnataka Chapter said that App can be accessed through Smartphones as well.
Use App to give a helping hand
The App consists of information about things like preparation of will concerning property and assets of senior citizens, financial management solutions, elders’ creative pursuits, rights as well as privileges of the elderly, etc.
Apart from this, Helpage Advantage Card Program facility has also been embedded, which can be availed by the elderly and senior citizens.
