Lenovo P2 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: The battle of mid-range smartphones

Synopsis

Lenovo P2 will be available exclusively on Flipkart at Rs 16,999 for the 3GB RAM+32GB variant. Flipkart's arch-rival Amazon is selling Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

Lenovo has launched the P2 smartphone in India. Dipped in Champagne Gold and Graphite Grey options, it will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The smartphone has been launched in two variants - one with 3GB RAM and another with 4GB RAM - starting at Rs 17,999.

This also reminds us of another high profile launch of the month - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, available via Flipkart's arch-rival Amazon. So, we couldn't help but compare them to find out who could be a winner, at least on paper. We've also thrown in the LeEco Le Max 2 in the ring that comes at a similar price of Rs 17,999 as the P2.

Take a look at the comparison chart below:

Verdict

In terms of specifications, the LeEco Le Max 2 has a slight upper hand with its larger and better display and camera, powerful processor and more RAM. The price tag of the Max 2 takes the value it offers a notch higher compared to the other two. But, it lacks expandable storage and the battery capacity is lower compared to others.

The Redmi Note 4 and the Lenovo P2 are almost at par with a decent specs sheet. Both come with a decent display, battery capacity and expandable storage up to 256GB. On paper, Le Max 2 seems like the winner, without considering the overall performance. The Redmi Note series is the most popular among the three. And, the Note 4 has already received accolades for its performance. However, the current listed price (which may most likely change) is a huge hindrance. At Rs 21,491, the Note 4 seems overshadowed by the other two.
