The highly anticipated 'anniversary edition' of the iPhone could be launched on September 12. Leaked info from a French phone carrier (via Mac4Ever) reveals that the iPhone 8 could be unveiled at an event on 12 September.
It is believed that the company will be unveiling not one, but three phones . The iPhone 8 will be accompanied by the iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus. Further, reportedly, the devices will go on sale on 22 September.
The iPhone 8 is said to come with a complete overhaul, inside out. Some of the newest features to watch out for are wireless charging, facial recognition and more. This report is contradictory to most reports that claim the iPhone 8 has been delayed. Besides, a new version of the Watch and iOS 11 are also expected.
In the past few months, we've seen several leaked photos and dummy models. This one below by Evan Blass shows the edge-to-edge display.

— Evan Blass (@evleaks) August 8, 2017A leak from GeekBar hints at the iPhone 8 to come in a new 512GB storage variant. A dummy iPhone 7s model has also surfaced. It comes from iPhone leak specialist Sonny Dickson (via 9To5Mac) revealing a glass back and inductive charging feature. It was earlier known that the iPhone 7s could come with aluminium body and not glass.
So far, it is believed that the iPhone 7s models won't come with too many changes and it’s the iPhone 8 that will be the limelight dubbed as the 'anniversary edition'.
There is likely to be a significant difference in their pricing too. Fast Company had previously said that the luxury iPhone 8 will cost not less than a whopping $1000, may be slightly higher. Apple developer John Gruber had said that the base model of the anniversary edition of the most high-end iPhone will start at $1200 that transforms to approximately Rs 77,300. This goes against the previous rumours that claimed the price won't exceed $1000.
