Flipkart runs into controversy even before the Big Shopping Days Sale begins

Synopsis

Flipkart Big Shopping Days Sale to kickoff December 18 - 21. Flipkart teases OnePlus 3 to be sold under Rs 20,000. OnePlus founder Carl Pei hits back at Flipkart.

Flipkart has been hitting headlines for all wrong reasons and has managed to do it yet again. This time it involves the upcoming four-day Big Shopping Days sale. So, just ahead of the sale that will run between December 18 - 21, the e-commerce store teased users with a banner that read OnePlus 3 will be sold under Rs 20,000. It should be noted that the device is priced around Rs 27,000. However, what's even more surprising is OnePlus 3 has been exclusive to Amazon.

While the price drop would be a great option for consumers to get their hands on the OnePlus 3 at a jaw-dropping discount, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei was quick to shoot back at Sachin Bansal, albeit in a polite manner, questioning him about the decision.

Pei called out the decision and said the device is exclusive to Amazon. However, this Flipkart page still shows the smartphone listed at Rs 27,999. The ongoing war between Amazon and Flipkart is no secret, and this situation has put Flipkart and its founders in an embarrassing position.

While we aren't sure if the OnePlus 3 will go on sale on Flipkart, but you can go ahead and check out the sale here
