In the past couple of years, companies have been churning out lite version of apps to cater to audiences with crawling mobile speeds and low storage issues on entry-level phones. Now, Facebook Messenger jumps onto the bandwagon as the lite version enters the Indian market. It is now available on Android.
The Facebook Messenger lite app is lightweight, simple and faster version of Messenger that has been especially been crafted for emerging markets like India.
The app is under 10MB and quick to install. It will let you send/receive messages, photos, stickers and so on. It has already been launched in countries such Vietnam, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Germany, Japan and the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Amazon is also said to be working on a messaging platform dubbed Anytime. It has begun surveying customers. The survey points out several factors such as privacy and security, a platform that can connect everyone using their names without the need for phone numbers, can work on desktop as well as mobile platforms, let you easily express yourself, challenge friends for games and more.
