Facebook to ape Whatsapp’s end-to- end encryption

Synopsis

Facebook is reportedly preparing to launch end-to-end encryption in its messenger to make it more secure. The social media major is expected to launch the new feature in few months.

End-to-end encryption ensures complete privacy. The feature, once enabled, will encrypt messages such that the content sent on the app is made inaccessible to all but the final user, not even to Facebook itself.

There has been no official announcement as yet by Facebook on the new feature’s launch, but a Guardian report claims that officials close to the company have said that the social media giant was working on the feature.
