China bans iPhone 6S, calls it a 'copy'

Intellectual property regulators in Beijing have banned the sale of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in the city as the phone allegedly resembled an already existing Chinese phone.
A case was filed by Apple in May in one of the Chinese lower courts as the company was barred from selling these models their iPhone. However, the judgement was not in Apple’s favour.
"IPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE models, are all available for sale today in China," Apple said in a statement Friday. "We appealed an administrative order from a regional patent tribunal in Beijing last month and as a result, the order has been stayed pending review by the Beijing IP Court," mentioned a CNBC report.
According to a The Wall Street Journal report, many stores in China have already stopped selling the listed Apple products for some time now.
China has also shut down Apple's iBooks and iTunes movies service earlier in April, as the company did not have the appropriate licenses, said the report.
The tech giant's stock dipped into the negative in April, which is attributed to a decline in sales in Apple’s biggest market (China) outside the US.
Apple’s shares were trading 1.7 percent lower on Friday.
