Uma Bharti invites Chief Ministers of TN and Karnataka for discussion on water-sharing

Synopsis

Water resources minister Uma Bharti said that Tamil Nadu stands first in the country in rainwater harvesting. Based on the discussion held by the CMs of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uma Bharti herself, a report will be sent to the Supreme Court. SC hearing on the Cauvery Water Board issue  has been scheduled to July 11

On raising a question as to why the Central government had failed to initiate the process of setting up the Cauvery Management Board, The Water Resources Minister, Uma Bharati said, “Tamil Nadu stands first among all states in India for rainwater harvesting”

“The Chief Ministers of TN and Karnataka are called for a discussion on setting up the Cauvery Management Board, based on which, a report would be sent for the notice of Supreme Court.” She further added.

It is a known fact that SC has fixed July 11 for final hearing.
