Kodaikanal: Although considered a marvel of nature Thalaiyar Falls is one of the most dangerous places to take selfies at.

20 years ago, a tower was built in Dum Dum Rock on the Batalugundu-Kodaikanal Ghat Road, which serves as a viewpoint to watch the majestic falls.

The 20 year old tower has been severely damaged. At any time the barricades enclosing the towers can easily fall off which would make the tourists fall right into the valley.

A complaint was made by the locals, and the Forest Department quickly banned the tourist’s entry. A warning board has also been placed.

Even after this the tourists are visiting the tower and are indulging in taking selfies.

Following this, the locals have placed a request to the Forest Department saying that this careless entry should be prohibited and the damaged tower should be reconstructed after demolition.
