Man arrested for hurling petrol bombs at CPI(M) office in Coimbatore

Synopsis

Saravanakumar, who hurled the bomb at the CP(I)M office is under police investigation. He is an active member of the north Coimbatore VHP organization and had worked as a Yoga inspector. Three special teams were formed by the police department and the investigation was on the process.

A man belonging to the Viswa Hindu Parishad organization has been arrested for hurling petrol bombs at the headquarters of Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Coimbatore.

He has been identified as Saravanakumar from Mettupalayam. He is under police investigation.

It was said that he is an active member of the north Coimbatore VHP organization and he has worked as a yoga instructor. It was also reported that he has returned here from London after he was working as an engineer a few years ago.

On June 17, few unidentified persons had hurled petrol bombs at the headquarters of Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Coimbatore.

Following this, three special teams were formed by the police department and the investigation was on the process.

Later a CCTV footage, related to this incident, it showed few unidentified persons escaping in bike with their faces covered.

Based on this footage, Saravanakumar was arrested.
