Karaikal shuts down over swearing-in by Kiran Bedi

Synopsis

The Congress and other parties had objected to the swearing-in by the Lt Governor. Against the functioning of Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, a shut down protest has been continuing in Karaikal. After Puducherry, Karaikal is also carrying out the shut down protest.  

On Tuesday, Kiran Bedi had sworn in BJP's V Saminathan, K G Shankar and S Selvaganapathy who were nominated to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly. 

The ruling Congress and other parties had objected to the swearing-in by the Lt Governor. Against the functioning of Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, a shut down protest has been continuing in Karaikal. After Puducherry, Karaikal is also carrying out the shut down protest.

All shops and establishments are closed.  Government and private buses are not operating in most of the places.
