AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran said that he had MLAs in the party wings who acted as sleeper cells and would come immediately to his aid when requiredApart from them, a few more MLAs would attend his North Chennai public meeting scheduled to be held on Aug 23, Dinakaran said. He further added, "Sasikala has suggested him some plans and more operations in the party will be surely seen."
According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Dinakaran had visited his aunt V K Sasikala at Bengaluru Parappana Agraharam prison to wish her for her 63rd birthday. After that, he is said to have supported the judicial probe in Jayalalithaa's death, announced by chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Dinakaran said that the probe will clear Sasikala's name in the case and promised to co-operate with the commission whenever required.
On the merger of Palaniswami's faction of AIADMK with that of Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Dinakaran said that it was important because it would save a few posts. He also emphasised that the merger will also not last long. He also opposed to the conversion of Jayalaithaa's Poes Garden residence into a museum since that was a "hasty" decision.
